So I left off with Mark. After a very strange skype interview, he decided to hire us! He's a super nice Australian guy who runs his own school, Best Eikaiwa (http://www.besteikaiwa.com/). It's a really great situation! His school is located in a town called Maizuru in the Kyoto prefecture. Maizuru is right on a harbour and is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! (see Tim Harris' blog for pictures and his stories, he was a teacher at Best Eikaiwa: http://timsjapan.blogspot.com/ ).We begin on the 1st of July and will be working part time (with free accommodation!) until August when we should begin working full-time. We will be teaching approximately 2-6 students at a time at all different age levels, which is great. Mark is currently developing a very unique way of teaching in that his lessons are for the most part being developed to be electronic and accessible to the students at any time. It will be interesting to see how it works! I'm super nervous about teaching...it should be fine though since he has a specific way that he wants things taught, which should relieve some pressure for us.
